In our most recent job, we tackled an old wooden door that had lost its charm due to years of exposure. Our goal was to restore its natural beauty and protect it for years to come.
Step 1: Sanding Down the Door
We began by carefully sanding down the door to remove the old finish and any surface imperfections. This crucial step prepares the wood to absorb the treatments effectively, ensuring a smooth and flawless finish.
Step 2: Applying Osmo Wood Reviver Power Gel
Next, we applied Osmo Wood Reviver Power Gel, a powerful cleaning agent specifically designed for weathered exterior wood.
- Deep Cleaning Action: The gel penetrates the wood to remove dirt and restore its original appearance.
- Environmentally Friendly: Odourless and biodegradable, it’s safe for your home and the environment.
- Non-Drip Formula: Ideal for vertical surfaces, preventing messy drips during application.
We allowed the gel to work its magic for 30 minutes before thoroughly washing and drying the door. This step rejuvenated the wood, preparing it for protection.
Step 3: Applying a Protective Base Coat
Once the door was dry, we applied a high-quality base coat that offers:
- Exceptional Water Repellence: Shields the wood from moisture.
- Resistance to Rot and Insects: Protects against common wood issues.
